Lectures & workshops

One of our core purposes at Neurokind is to spread knowledge about neurodiversity in many different parts of society, so we can create better conditions for the well-being of neurodivergent people.

That's why we offer lectures and workshops on many different topics within the field of neurodiversity. We have special expertise in knowledge about autism, life as a neuro-minority, and neurodivergent communities and workplaces. We have held lectures and workshops both in Denmark and in the Faroe Islands.

Neuro-inclusive workplaces

Lectures & workshops for companies

There are great human and professional benefits to having a diverse workplace: neurodivergent and other minorities alike have unique perspectives and qualities to contribute, often to the benefit of their communities. At the same time, it can place demands on the workplace if neurodivergent employees are meant to thrive and use their talents on the job without succumbing to stress.

We work to provide knowledge and insights to help companies create a truly inclusive culture for neurodivergent employees. We usually tailor the content of workshops and lectures to the needs of the company, but relevant topics could include:

  • Introduction to neurodivergence (with a focus on autism and ADHD)

  • Stress prevention in neurodivergent people

  • Neuro-inclusive communication in professional environments

  • Introduction to neurodiversity, senses, and the work environment

  • Neurodivergent meaning and motivation in the workplace

  • How to support the well-being of neurodivergent employees?

  • How to make hiring processes more inclusive for neurodivergent people?

Organizations with neurodiversity as their field of work

Lectures & workshops for organizations and institutions

Many organizations and institutions have neurodivergent users, such as educational institutions, schools/special services, municipalities, health clinics, etc. etc. In these environments it is particularly important that employees and managers at all levels have a very good knowledge of neurodivergence and the living conditions of neurodivergent people, so they can to create the best possible framework for mutual understanding and cooperation with neurodivergent citizens, pupils, students or patients and their loved ones.

We provide knowledge and insight with a special emphasis on the valuable "inside perspective", in order to help organizations qualify their employees to meet neurodivergent people (who often have very different living conditions and prerequisites). We focus on building deep understanding, sharing solutions to common issues, and counteracting misunderstandings and stigmatization.

We usually tailor the content of workshops and lectures to the organization's wishes and needs, but relevant topics could include:

  • Introduction to neurodivergence (with a focus on autism and ADHD)

  • Neurodivergent wellbeing in a neuro-normative society

  • Neuro-supportive work with neurodivergent families

  • Autism and ADHD in women and girls

  • Introduction to neurodivergent senses and nervous systems

  • Roleplay as a space for creative neurodivergent communities

  • Stress and strain in neurodivergent children and adults

Tailored lectures & workshops

Practical information & booking

Most of the talks and workshops we organize are tailored to the occasion. When you book a lecture or workshop, we do our best to identify the needs and wishes of you and your organization, and we design materials and activities for the occasion. We have a wide range of competencies at Neurokind, and if there are special requests, we will bring in one of our skilled partners, e.g. a skilled psychologist with many years of experience working with neurodivergent people.

Of course, our events are always neuro-inclusive. This means that there is always room for participants (regardless of neurotype) to accommodate their own needs, e.g. by taking breaks, looking at their phones, not reading the text on slides, wearing headphones, or whatever else is needed. We know that everyone learns in their own way, and we need to make room for that. Participants always have the opportunity to say yes or no to activities and ask for consideration if needed. We also always send slides from our workshops to participants after presentations and workshops, so they can review the material at their own pace.

If you prefer, we're also happy to hold lectures and workshops online over Zoom. This can be a good idea to create accessibility for e.g. employees who work from home.

We hold lectures and workshops in both Danish and English.

Price by agreement. Transportation costs must be expected for engagements outside the Greater Copenhagen area.

If you would like to book a tailor-made workshop or lecture, please write to us at hello@neurokind.dk (preferably well in advance so we have the time to nerd out on the details; we really enjoy that).
